Last Saturday, team members from ISL and QWK Insights embarked on an inspiring journey to St. John’s Co-Cathedral- an experience that blended cultural enrichment with team bonding in the most spectacular way.
Exploring the Magnificence of St. John’s Co-Cathedral
Located in the heart of Valletta, St. John’s Co-Cathedral is one of Malta’s most cherished landmarks. Built in the 16th century by the Order of St. John, this breathtaking masterpiece stands as a testament to Malta’s rich history and cultural heritage. The cathedral was designed by renowned architect Ġlormu Cassar and later embellished with magnificent artworks, including Caravaggio’s marvellous painting, The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist.
From the moment you step inside, St. John’s Co-Cathedral captivates with its lavish interiors, intricate frescoes and grand marble tombstones. The gold-gilded vaults and intricate detailing tell the stories of Malta’s past, making it a magnificent place to visit.
At the Clock Tower, we witnessed the mechanical movements of the clock and heard the chimes of the bells. The guided tour started through a narrow spiral staircase of 99 steps leading up to the belfry. The tour allowed us to appreciate the craftsmanship and historical significance of each section of the cathedral.
A Breathtaking Team-Building Experience
Walking through the Cathedral, we not only marvelled at the beauty surrounding us, but also engaged in conversations about history, art and shared interests. The outing sparked creativity, encouraged discussions, and enabled us to connect beyond work-related activities.
